THE WINCHCOMBE METEORITE

On the evening of 28th February, a bright fireball was seen over much of England and Wales. It fell apart in the atmosphere, sprinkling meteorites across Winchcombe and the surrounding area. The largest piece hit and disintegrated into rubble in the driveway of the Wilcock family. Three scientists from the Natural History Museum will discuss what happened on that evening and afterwards, and what we are learning about the solar system from this precious rock.
