JACK OF WINCHCOMBE – A TALK BY JEAN BRAY
May 23, 2019 @ 12:30 pm£8
Truth or legend? In Tudor times John Smallwood, a working lad from Winchcombe, made his way to Newbury and gained apprenticeship to a worthy of that town where he was named John or Jack of Winchcombe. But was it Jack or his son John of Winchcombe who was later described as the most considerable clothier (without fancy or favour) England ever beheld?
Event supported by The Oldham Foundation
Tickets £8 (to include a glass of wine and entry to Sudeley Castle and grounds)
